<image:caption>JONATHAN JAKUBOWICZ (Source Material) Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Jonathan Jakubowicz is an award winning writer and filmmaker. His latest film Resistance stars Jesse Eisenberg and Ed Harris, and it's inspired by the story of Marcel Marceau during the Second World War. The film premiered at the Shanghai Film Festival to a packed house and glowing reviews. It was released worldwide during the pandemic and in drive-in theaters around the USA where it became the number one movie in America for two weeks in a row. Jakubowicz also wrote and directed the epic movie about the legendary boxer Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran starring Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Ana de Armas, Ellen Barkin, Ruben Blades, John Turturro and Usher. Hands of Stone premiered in the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival 2016 to a standing ovation and was released world wide. Jakubowicz jumped to international recognition in 2005 after he wrote, directed and produced Secuestro express; the frightening story of one young couple's ordeal as they career through the underbelly of Caracas in the hands of three thugs who've made them their latest payday. The thriller became Venezuela's highest-grossing film, eclipsing such movies as Titanic and The Passion of the Christ. In 2016 he published "Las Aventuras de Juan Planchard," his first novel. The book quickly rose to the top of the Spanish language Best Sellers in Amazon, and it holds the record for most copies sold in Venezuela in twenty five years. In 2020 he released the sequel "La Venganza de Juan Planchard", which debuted in the number one spot for New Releases in Spanish language in Amazon, and went on to be the second most sold book in Spanish after Harry Potter, for three weeks in a row.</image:caption>
